About the event
I am organising a FREE walk out to the Mulberry Harbour on Friday 12th August. If you aren’t sure what this is, please check out the video I posted on Facebook, (if you don’t have Facebook, let me know and I will send you the link):

You can only reach the Mulberry Harbour at low tide (it’s a mile out to sea), so I have timed it to be able to do it in the evening of the next full “sturgeon” moon.
We will be parking by Thorpe Bay Yacht club at 6:30, the car park is free from 6pm with a view to starting the walk at 6:45pm. The whole trip takes an hour and 45 minutes to complete.
You will be walking on the beach/sand, so I recommend wearing beach shoes or old trainers. The ground is firm under foot, but there is a water channel that we wade through, but it doesn’t come higher than your mid shin.
When we get to the Mulberry harbour, you can swim, but only if you want to. It is a very peaceful area and somewhere new to walk, it’s a new view of Southend too, so I hope you will take up this opportunity.
If you are swimming, wear what you are swimming in and bring a bag with a towel in to dry off and a change of clothes. There is a beach for you to put your bag on that will be dry. Try to travel light as you will have to carry it.
