These Spicy Oven Roasted Chickpeas are so quick to prepare and if you eat whilst hot, they will have a lovely crunch.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
400g can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 tsp spices of your choice:
Paprika
Piri-Piri seasoning
Cayenne Pepper
Sumac
Sambal Oelek
Or any spices you have in the cupboard!
¼ tsp sea salt, ground
1 tbsp olive oil
Method:
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/400°F/Gas Mark 6. Put chickpeas into baking tray, add all other ingredients and mix together well. You can mix these together in a bowl, first, but I am trying to reduce the washing up! Place in the oven for 40-45 minutes, until the chickpeas are golden and crispy.
Tip:
You can use any type of bean and any spice; the only limitation is your imagination.
Serve on its own for a buffet or with a salad
Have instead of crisps.
Turn into houmous
Store in an airtight container for 10 days, if they last that long!
