Breakfast number 3 in my week of breakfasts

This breakfast combines simplicity and style. Asparagus is my favourite vegetable, so much so that I even grow my own and I started them all from seed. This is not just a breakfast, it makes a great starter too.

Serves 2 (for breakfast) 4 for a starter


250g Asparagus spears

1 pack of bacon (approximately 6 rashers)

Sea salt and black pepper


Preheat your grill to 180°C. Meanwhile, cut the bacon into long thin strips. Then wrap the bacon strips around the spear part of the asparagus and place the spear on your grill pan. Once you have completed them all and the grill has reached temperature, place the asparagus wrapped in bacon under the grill.

It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes, it’s the spears that will cook first, so keep your eye on them, maybe turn them over at 4 minutes and make sure they don’t burn.

Once ready plate up, sprinkle over some fairy dust (salt and pepper) and enjoy your breakfast!
